Origin & Story of Labradorite
Labradorite was first discovered in the late 1700s on the Isle of Paul, near Labrador, Canada—hence its name. Local Inuit legends tell that the Northern Lights were trapped inside the stone, and with a warrior’s strike, the lights were released into the sky. The stone still holds that mystical quality, with its brilliant flashes resembling the aurora borealis.
Today, Labradorite is also sourced from Madagascar and Finland, but it always carries the same mystical reputation of fire within stone.
PLEASE NOTE: These are not like our regular bezels! These are what is commonly referred to as "Cut Stone", meaning that the backs of these bezels are pointed. This style of cut helps to enhance the natural beauty of the gemstone and allows more light to enter all facets of the stone.
